Why This Archive Matters
History lives in personal memory, not only in dates.
Many who witnessed the war firsthand are aging. With every passing year, personal accounts, photographs, letters, and recordings risk being lost forever. The Biafra Memory Project exists to preserve them — for families, historians, and future documentary and educational work.

What happens to your story after you submit it.
- Submitting is entirely voluntary, and you may write as much or as little as you wish.
- You must own the materials or have permission from whoever does before submitting them.
- Taradome Films may preserve, archive, and use approved submissions in future educational, historical, or documentary projects.
- Every submission is reviewed before publication or any public use — nothing goes live automatically.
- You can request correction, restriction, or removal of publicly displayed materials at any time, where feasible.
No Compensation
No payment, royalties, residuals, or ownership interest is provided in exchange for a submission, now or in the future. Full terms appear in Step 5 of the submission form below.

Before you share your story
Contributing a family memory is a meaningful act. Here are answers to the questions we're asked most.
There is no cost to contribute, and no compensation, royalties, or payment is offered now or in the future. The Biafra Memory Project is a voluntary preservation effort. Contributing is an act of remembrance, not a paid arrangement.
Submitted materials are stored privately by default. Access is limited to authorized Taradome Films reviewers and archivists. Nothing is made public unless it has been reviewed and approved through our permissions process. You control the consent choices at submission.
Please only share materials you have the right to submit, and avoid information that could put living individuals at risk. Every submission is reviewed with care for privacy, safety, and respectful representation before any archival use. You can flag sensitivity notes during submission.
Written stories (typed or uploaded), photographs, scanned documents and letters, audio recordings, and video. You can submit a single memory or a full family testimony — no story is too small.
No. We welcome first-hand witnesses, children and grandchildren of survivors, family representatives, researchers, and historians. Memories passed down through families are a vital part of the record.
Yes. You may contact us to request correction, restriction of future public use, or removal of publicly displayed materials where feasible. Because materials may exist in archives or backups, we can't guarantee removal from every copy, but we review every request in good faith.
You'll receive a confirmation email with a reference number. Our team then reviews the submission with care before any archival use. We may reach out if we have questions. Written stories are preserved in PDF and Word formats for long-term archival.
